FEED THE NEED
homebound delivery to our most vulnerable citizens

It's no secret that Milwaukee is one of the most segregated cities in the country. That's bad enough, but now Covid-19 is hitting the isolated northside neighborhoods hardest of all. Why? Poor access to health care and grocery stores. A prevalence of health issues, like asthma and diabetes. And many residents working in crisis-essential jobs like health care, cleaning and retail.

Help us bring food directly to Milwaukee's most vulnerable residents and limit the spread of Covid-19 and prevent additional illnesses and fatalities.

We Are UniteWI

UniteWI works on the front lines to protect Milwaukee’s most vulnerable families. We train and coordinate community health workers who provide in-home care for families with the greatest health risks and need.

We have identified families that have risk factors that make them most vulnerable to Covid-19. And while our staff knows who and where vulnerable families are – they do not have food to bring them. The pandemic has already stressed the fragile nonprofit agencies that serve the communities most in need. Food banks in particular have experienced a huge demand due to business closures and layoffs.

FEEDing THOSE IN NEED

Picture
“As we have many organizations pivoting to support our community’s most pressing needs, Feeding America Eastern Wisconsin is proud to partner with Feed the Need MKE to reach our most vulnerable homebound residents. We hope to grow this initiative so more people who do not have access to food can find nourishment through our collaboration.”
